Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort is just minutes from the Palm Springs International Airport and downtown Palm Springs. Named by Golf Digest as one of the best places to play in 2001, Tahquitz Creek offers 36 holes of golf, the Legend and the Resort.
The Legend course is a traditional style golf course that offers 4 sets of tees allowing you to play a layout as short as 5,800 yards to as long as 6,800 yards for the more seasoned player. The course winds through several neighborhoods over 50 years old. Fairways are narrow and lined with trees and the greens are sternly sloped from back to front. The course originally began as a 9-hole course in 1957 and was transformed into a full 18-hole course in 1959. Arnold Palmer added 40 bunkers in 1996 to add extra challenge to this traditional course layout. Legend is fun challenge for all skill levels.
The Resort course offers a desert links style layout that meanders through the Mohave Desert boasting scenic views of the San Jacinto Mountains. Tahquitz Canyon Wash runs alongside the course. Many wildfire native to the area may be seen on the golf course from time to time in both the washes that run alongside the course and on the fairway. The course presents rolling terrain, challenging target shots and many waterscapes such as waterfalls, lakes and fountains. Voted Best of the Valley by The Desert Sun Readers, this course is the perfect model of true desert golf.
Scenic Hole Fact: Hole #7 of the Resort course offers an island fairway. Views of the San Jacinto Mountains can from all angles.
